Congress has passed a bill stating that all tvs incompatible with High definition signals will require an additional device to be purchased, just to keep watching your regular tv.
Why? All broadcasting will be done in High Definition. HD dvd players will go from $330-$450 to $600-$750. So basically, analog tvs will be crap in two years. If you dont have an HD TV yet, consider getting one.
Anything passed 46 inches, plasma or DLP would be a good choice. Anything lower, I prefer LCD.
The Strengths? LCD has no glare or reflection, vivid color and is just beautiful to see. Its lighter, most are wall mountable, but its very fragile.
Plasma would be a great alternative to LCD when looking for something bigger, but the burn in factor, and short life span (especially if the sun shines on it, or in high temperatures.) could make it a bit pricey for something that could last only 3-6 years.
DLP could be excellent if made by a reputable brand like Samsung, or if its a 1080P Sony, but the some of the other less known brands...well lets just say you might just wanna buy a plasma instead.

0.o Did they really? Wow. We have a plasma screen, but it's not HIGH-definition, but "enhanced-definition". Second best thing, but my dad has been looking at HD t.v.s a lot lately. _________________ .:sp3ct3rs and d34dm3n:. ||| F4LL4CY |||

| The law was passed about a year ago, but I don't think it takes effect until something like 2009. Unneccessary government intrusion on private business, IMHO. |

Yurp, Febuary 17, 2009. Sometimes I'm amazed at what the government can make happen.
